Why support us?
Fact: without the financial support of donors and sponsors, it is not possible for Australian arts groups and organisations to sustain their activities.
The Australian Historical Performance Initiative is one of the few non-profit organisations in Australia whose principal mission is to promote historical music. By presenting concerts, the Australian public will be able to experience and enjoy concerts performed by many of the best Australian musicians in the field of historical performance.
Unlike other artforms, historical music has been given minimal attention by Australia's government arts funding. Instead, funding bodies, such as the Australian Council for Art, often prioritise the creation of new Australian works. For this reason, this historical music finds itself in a disadvantaged position when applying for government grants.
By donating to the AHPI, your money and your tax dollars* will go directly towards supporting artistic and musical activities in historical music. This financial contribution will allow the organisation and its associated musicians to concentrate their efforts on producing high-quality concerts, rather than working on procuring funds. A continued dedication towards the practice, cultivation and appreciation of historical music will raise the level of historical performance in Australia and benefit all lovers of this artforrm.
* The AHPI is a Deductible Gift Recipient, i.e. the organisation possesses DGR status. The AHPI also holds a charitable fundraising authority under section 13A of the Charitable Fundraising Act 1991. Charitable Fundraising Number CFN/22896 (NSW).
