Shaun Warden, baroque violin
Shaun Josiah Warden grew up in Kiama, on the mid-south coast of New South Wales, and began learning the violin at school under the guidance of Greham Deans. Having studied on both period instruments and modern instruments at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the Australian Institute of Music, and briefly at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Cologne, Germany), Shaun has studied with some of the finest educators the modern age has to offer.
Since moving to Sydney in 2010, Shaun has professionally recorded and performed with many ensembles in Sydney and throughout Australia. Some of these ensembles include the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Orchestra of the Antipodes and Sinfonia Australis. For period performances his instrument of choice is a beautiful violin by Jacobus Stainer from the 1690's.
Shaun enjoys teaching people the art of the violin and viola, and has taught at the Australian Institute of Music, Sydney International Grammar School, Greenwich Public School. He was also the founding director of the Kiama Young Musicians Ensemble from 2011 until 2015 and currently the director of the Greenwich Youth Ensemble.
