Liane Sadler, baroque flute
Liane Sadler studies historical flutes with Megan Lang as part of her Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she is also mentored by Dr. Neal Peres da Costa. She has also had lessons in Australia with Melissa Farrow, Kate Clark, and Mikaela Oberg, and has performed in masterclasses with Catherine Mackintosh, Nigel North and Mary Springfels.
In July 2013, she travelled to the UK to study with some of the world's leading exponents of historical flutes, including Rachel Brown and Georgia Browne. In August 2013, Liane won the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s Early Music division of the Concerto Competition. In this same year she also won the Early Music Association of NSW prize for outstanding achievement in early music.
Liane is currently a member of the Sydney Conservatorium's Early Music Ensemble playing baroque and classical flutes as well as recorder. In the past, Liane has been a member of various professional and amateur ensembles such as El Coro, the Sydney Youth Orchestras, HICES Symphony Orchestra and Northern Sydney Youth Orchestras. She has also been a part of many chamber groups, both within and outside of the Sydney Conservatorium, which has led to performances in the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Town Hall, and recital halls within the Sydney Conservatorium.
